Feminist Monday Smashes Like the Hulk

Thankfully, Anita has decided to face down the trolls and continue with the project. On Tropes vs Women in Video Games. This is why we can't have nice things. (It's also why trolls need consequences. It's why we used to have laws against slander. Ah, checks and balances. They are the handy.) Yes, sure. It's great that it ended well. Ish. Still, no one should have to go through that kind of abuse. Money doesn't make everything all better. Disagree because "the internets are for tough guys"? Okay, watch what Ill Doctrine has to say on the subject. All I can say is Anita is one brave woman. Go her.

Dear Michigan Representatives, stop with the misognistic crap already. If you can't treat your constituents with respect, you don't need to be a representative. That is no a crown on your head. You were not elected king or even noble. You were *elected*. Smell the coffee. Also? Here's a hint: abusing those with less power is not going to make the economy better or actually increase your personal power. The threat you feel isn't coming from that quarter. I understand that it's easier than thinking. But really, it does no one any good.

And now for your moment of light-hearted fun. Mary Robinette Kowal tells a telemarketer why she's not out spending her husband's money. (WTF? Really?) Yes. Mary kicks ass so well she doesn't even have to wear stompy boots.
