Here's a link to an interview over at The Qwillery wherein the new book is chatted about. She's giving away a copy of Of Blood and Honey too. You know, in case you're interested. :) Oh, and a reminder that there's only one more day left on the Goodreads giveaway for And Blue Skies from Pain. (see far right) And Tuesday is the BookPeople event.
Okay. Enough of that stuff.
Last night's kung fu class reminded me why I enjoy it so much. It has a lot to do with the instructor. Like my former kendo sensei, he has that peaceful, steadfast energy I find soothing. (Dane has it too, interestingly enough.) I need that because I tend to get a bit stressed about making mistakes. (It's dumb but there it is.) Anyway, fun. I plan to keep up with it as long as I can. They're a good group. Good people. And martial arts definitely helps me keep my competitive/aggressive/angry side in balance. Luckily, future classes won't be on Thursday nights. That way, I can squeeze in fencing practice too. It's been far too long -- three years, I think. With all the sitting I do, I definitely need the exercise and plus... people. Oh my gods, I get to talk to people! And I probably will have to write some sword fights in the current project. I need to refresh my memory.
Next, because Shelly Rae asked to see my Rat Fink t-shirt* outfit and because several folks also asked for a photo of the new hair... be warned. I suck at taking pictures of myself, largely because I hate having my picture taken. (It's something I'm working on getting over.)
And the outfit:

And the hair. I forgot to comb my bangs first, alas.

You can see the t-shirt better in the second photo, but Shelly wanted to see it with the skirt.

* I wore it to help me finish a guest blog post on how to write car chases. Yes, I'm silly that way.
