My short story "Glass Coffin" is up on RevolutionSF. It's free, by the way. They're calling it horror. So, I'll go with that. :) (I never know what they're going to classify my stuff.) If you're from Austin, you'll recognise a few places and people. (For example: Maufrais is a name I swiped off of the sidewalks around Hyde Park. It's stamped into the concrete.) Also, the character Penny is named for my good friend Jennifer Danvers. There are a number of others in the story, but I'll leave that to you to figure out. ;)
Much as I would've loved to see Toranto, CA and Charles de Lint and so many others who will be there... realistically, I just can't do it without risking putting a strain on Dane later. It's too bloody expensive. The exchange rate is hellish which puts the membership ticket at $231. (Usually, memberships run about half that. The most I've paid is $150.) The flight alone would've run me $800 and that doesn't include hotel expenses and meals. The more I thought about it, the more unrealistic the concept was.* So... I'm going to World Con in Chicago instead. Sucks, but them's the breaks. I can't do both.
So, I'll be heading to Chicago in late August. (August 30-September 3)

* My husband may have a good job, and I may have sold two books, but I'm still running on a very thin margin here.

Trust me, It'd be great for you to come to Chicago, but I'd hate for you to miss anything important at WFC. I guess I figured you rich, multi-book writers could do both - lol!
